This almond milk london fog with lavender is a dairy-free and vegan-friendly version of the popular Earl Grey Tea Latte with a hint of lavender. Easy, delicious, and less expensive to make at home!
London Fog is a popular creamy Earl Grey tea drink made with steamed milk and vanilla. Tea lattes like these are quickly becoming a new favorite for me this season. They’re lighter and much more flavorful than coffee, especially when you combine the fragrant taste of lavender and Earl Grey tea.
Earl Grey is a black tea that has been flavored with oil from the rind of the citrus fruit, bergamot. It has a distinct citrusy/florally flavor that people seem to either love or hate. It think it pairs well with lavender too, which is how I enjoy it often.
What I do differently with this latte is to flavor and froth a portion of the almond milk separately and then mix it all together. I just LOVE my Milk Frother
and use it often. It adds a little something special to this latte and also makes a great cappuccino or a foamy hot chocolate. It’s one of my favorite kitchen tools and is very inexpensive too!
I get these London Fogs sometimes at the local cafes, but I have to admit that I prefer my homemade version much better! I hope you enjoy this latte and please tag me and #wifemamafoodie on Instagram if you make it!

Almond Milk London Fog with Lavender
- Yield: 1 serving 1x
Description
A dairy-free and vegan-friendly version of the popular Earl Grey Tea Latte with a hint of lavender. Easy, delicious, and less expensive to make at home!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup almond milk, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon Culinary Lavender
- (use 1 teaspoon for a stronger lavender flavor)
- 1/4 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 Earl Grey Teabags
- Maple Syrup
, Honey
, or Raw Sugar
(to taste)
- Milk Frother
Instructions
- Place 1/4 cup very warm almond milk into a large mug. Break up the lavender pods by rubbing between your fingers and place into a mesh tea ball. Let steep for 3-5 minutes. (If you don’t have a tea ball, you can place the lavender directly into the milk and strain after steeping)
- Place remaining 1/4 cup milk and 1/2 cup water into a small saucepan and let come to a simmer on the stove over medium heat. Alternatively you can place liquid into a microwave safe dish and heat for 1.5-2 minutes in the microwave, or until hot. Turn heat off and add the earl grey teabags. Steep the tea for 2-4 minutes, according to package directions. Remove tea bags and sweeten with honey or sugar, to taste.
- While the tea is steeping, strain lavender from the milk and add vanilla extract. Feel free to add some sweetener too, if you like your lattes sweet. Use a Milk Frother
to froth the milk until foamy and doubled in volume.
- Pour earl grey tea into foamed milk and gently stir together. Makes one 12oz. serving.

Looks delicious! What espresso machine do you use?
I have a formal wedding in a few weeks and this would be perfect! The step-by-step guide is so helpful.
I’ve always wanted to try a fresh warm drink with lavender! This is absolutely perfect for the morning on a lazy Sunday!
Mmmm frothy milk is THE BEST! My fiance has been REALLY into matcha lattes lately, so he bought us a little milk frother, which I’ve been using for cafe au laits in the morning. What was my life before frothers?! 😛
I’ve never heard of a London Fog either, but now that I’ve seen this, I must give it a try! Thanks.
<3<3<3<3 I absolutely ADORE London Fogs! Thanks for the recipe! <3
That sounds delicious! I love to add lavender to my tea when I am having a stressful moment. It always helps calm me. I will have to make this for the husband and I this weekend!
This looks so good and soothing, perfect drink for reading in a comfy chair.
Yes, I agree. Thank you!
I am so trying this tomorrow. Yum!
Thank you, Greta. I hope you love it!
Your latte looks 100x better than anything I could get at our local coffee shop! It’s (almost) too pretty to drink!
I think I need to give my frother another try. When I tried using it for the first time last year, I made a huge mess and ended up having milk all over the counter. I just wanted to froth a little cream for my coffee but I think I need to have more liquid in the cup. You’ve inspired me to dig it out and try again. =)
I have a feeling I’ll be trying this soon so keep an eye out for my tag on Instagram!
Haha, those little frothers can be tricky at times, Stacey, but you should definitely give it another try! I just make sure the wand is submerged in the milk before turning it on…I usually use about 3-4 tbsp of milk to make sure there’s enough. Oh, and warming the milk a bit before frothing helps a bunch!! My frother is easily one of my favorite kitchen tools! Can’t wait to see what you make! 🙂
This looks delicious! Lavender and earl grey go together so well!

Thank you, friend. I hope you like it. It’s a delicious balance of flavors. Have a great weekend, Anu!
Oh this looks incredible – I’ve never had one before, but from this, I know I’d love it! Adding to my list and pinning!
Thank you, Chloe!
Your photos have already sold me on this easy recipe. I love good, I mean really good teas and lattes and lately have been so disappointed with the coffee shop versions. I must try this!
